Business merger could improve VoIP solutions
10.06.2010
VoIP solutions could benefit from improved security following McAfee's acquisition of a Virginia-based mobile phone security firm. McAfee, the security technology company, will integrate Trust Digital's mobile security software into its own future products.

IP telephony service users will therefore have access to a centralised security platform to easily manage any potential security threats.

The new software will also provide secure access to information on mobile applications, enabling remote employees to work as they would in the office.

Mark Shull, chief executive officer of Trust Digital, said: "The integration of Trust Digital with McAfee will enable enterprises to rapidly deploy new mobility devices such as smart-phones across diverse mobile environments cost effectively and with the highest level of security."

The first product which will combine the software will be McAfee's management console, ePolicy Orchestrator.

Meanwhile, software firm SAP has recently acquired data management company Sybase which will also provide improved VoIP security solutions.
