Compunetix VoIP Solution Selected by KPN
16.06.2010
Compunetix has announced that KPN has added its voice over Internet protocol to its CONTEX Summit-based public service conferencing offer. KPN uses CONTEX Summit collaboration media processors with both VoIP and public switched telephone network calls on the same system without using external gateways.

Company officials said that voice calls maintain the reliability and quality of service that has become a benchmark in the industry, regardless of whether a call is VoIP or ISDN.

The Compunetix VoIP solution has passed the rigorous certification testing with the Ericsson VoIP Connect SIP trunking interface. Company officials said that this is a testament to Summit interoperability and versatility.

KPN is a telecommunications and ICT service provider in the Netherlands, offering wireline and wireless telephony, Internet and TV to consumers and end-to-end telecom and ICT services to business customers.

The VoIP launch is seen as a “significant milestone” for KPN as it expands its service offering and efficiently manages operations. The company is using Compunetix CONTEX Summits for event conferencing services.

Rudo Wijbrands, product manager of conferencing at KPN, said that Summit VoIP/ISDN solution is “reliable, high quality, scalable, and provides best-of-class service.”

Wijbrands said that Compunetix is an “agile” organization and provides us with innovative next-generation technology backed by excellent development and outstanding customer support teams.

Compunetix is a manufacturer of multipoint collaboration equipment and Web collaboration software in the world. The company also announced that they have signed a distribution agreement with Spire Global within the United States for its new line of EVERGREEN video Multipoint Control Units (MCUs).
