Deltathree Delivers Video Phone Service to 5tel Communications

deltathree has landed a contract to supply digital phone and video phone
service to Australia-based Internet Telephony Company 5tel
Communications Pty. Ltd. This will enable 5tel to move into the
videophone market in Australia.
5tel has identified opportunities for growth in the videophone market and also for integrating it with its present IP phone service.
As the first company to launch coin operated Internet Telephony payphones, company officials said they are able to offer 98 percent cost reduction in call costs.
Douglas Archibald, general manager at 5tel noted that the company’s philosophy is to stay ahead in the communications market by deploying next generation digital video and phone services. They will be making use of the deltathree support to bring the social networks, family and friends closer.
Under the agreement, 5tel will provide immediate video connection where in the user can experience a new way of interactive communication and family members located at distant places or people with challenges such as the hearing impaired are brought together in a real time face-to-face conversation.
5tel will produce excellent and consistent video quality and will provide ‘plug in and play’ videophone connection to the existing broadband DSL or cable internet connection available with the customer.
