VoIP solutions coming to UAE
21.06.2010
Telecoms operator Du has confirmed they intend to offer IP telephony
solutions in the near future, while rival firm Etisilat will also be
offering the service.
Fareed Faraidooni, Du chief commercial officer, told the website: "We have developed this service and had submitted to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and probably we will be the first operator in the UAE to launch a set of VoIP services next month."
The firm plans to offer services for both businesses and consumers, allowing all users to make significant telephony savings and high-quality calls.
Companies across the UAE could significantly expand following the adoption of the technology as savings could be used to develop businesses.
The new technology is expected to be deployed once the TRA formulate a policy relating to VoIP communications in the country.
