Interactive Voice Response (IVR) is the interactive technology that makes it possible for a computer to identify data input, both keyboard and sound (voice).

The IVR technology is widely used in telecommunications; it is also being employed in hands-free operation systems for vehicles. Deployment in vehicles mostly concerns satellite navigation, audio and mobile phone systems.

In telecommunications, IVR helps customers access companies’ databases via a phone touchtone keypad and by speech recognition, and then customers can proceed to their own enquiries according to the system’s instructions.
IVR systems can issue pre-recorded or dynamically generated audio to further tell users what to do next. IVR systems can control almost any function, provided that the interface can be divided into a series of simple menu steps. In telecommunications applications, like customer support lines, IVR systems can be increased in scale to accommodate large call volumes.

IVR and Voice Broadcasting. Voice Broadcasting Services

Voice broadcasting is one of the most efficient and cost saving ways of communications today. A voice broadcast service can call numbers from a computer-managed list and plays a pre-recorded message. One call center can make one call or thousands of calls utilizing the software available on the market today.
