The new wireless devices, created on the international DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) standard, includes Polycom KIRK KWS 300 Wireless Base Unit and KIRK 5020 Cordless IP Phone, as well as new 8x8 DECT Adjunct service which enables users to dynamically reroute a live call from their desk phone to their cordless handset and in opposite direction. Cost Effective Solution- Using an SIP IP interface to the 8x8 Virtual PBX and supporting Power over Ethernet, KIRK Wireless Server 300 allows efficient use of the existing LAN network infrastructure and components. Easy manageability - The KIRK Wireless Server 300 is deployed as a single-cell DECT solution that is installed directly on your Ethernet LAN and is managed as part of your company network. Up to 5 KWS300 Servers can be deployed in each cell. Wide range - Approximate cell range is ~30 meters from its KWS300 base unit. Also, KIRK 5020 business level colored handset offers several key features such as: a large capacity phonebook, user-friendly, four-way navigation key and a high-capacity battery powering each handset with a complete daily coverage of talk time and a week of standby time. The 8x8 DECT Adjunct service allows customers to adjust their Polycom KIRK 5020 handset as an adjunct to any 8x8 supported desktop phone, therefore ensuring the procedure of a call to be moved back and forth between their desktop phone and their cordless handset. There are no extra monthly fees for adding an adjunct handset. For the highly mobile user, 8x8 is also offering a unique service that provides customers a wireless only solution instead of fastened desk phone.
