Company Innotech Aviation has acquired FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) multiple Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval for its I-Ku™ airborne high- speed Internet system for equipping on Bombardier Global Express airplanes. Innotech is executing final installations at its premises in Montreal. European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approval is pending.
The I-Ku system integrates the ViaSat VMT-1500 airborne high-speed Internet terminal and provides data and voice connectivity using the merely global coverage of ViaSat Yonder® service for the most available data transmission speeds in the industry.

By implementing the dedicated Innotech produced software, users on in-service aircraft enjoy full scale access to high-speed Internet service, VoIP services, Voice Wi-Fi, and other applications, being tagged as office-in-the-sky. Simultaneous on-board Web access can be executed with any wireless hardware, such as notebooks, Blackberries, iPhones, and iPads.

Innotech Aviation, director of sales and marketing, Tony Rawlinson said, “ The I-Ku system supports the growing demand for seamless connectivity from home or office direct to the aircraft. With a fixed monthly service fee of approximately $6,000 for unlimited worldwide access, and the fastest airborne Internet service on the market, the system is a must for aircraft owners looking to maximize connectivity and the overall value of their aircraft.”

It is being reported, that I-Ku system’ s overall weight is less than 50 lbs, and it could be installed in 10-15 days onto any aircraft.
