AT&T to deploy HSPA+ after all.
AT&T has revealed that it will now deploy HSPA+ across its network, having previously said it would skip the evolution by jumping from HSPA straight to Long term Evolution (LTE).

The company will now deploy 14.4Mbps HSPA+ too. Although the LTE build it still scheduled to start in 2011, a faster national back-up network would allow AT&T to be more flexible in how quickly it adopts 4G technology. John Stankey, CEO of AT&T Operations, outlined the new plan in interviews with the GigaOm and Engadget blogs. He said it would cost AT&T less than USD10 million to upgrade to HSPA+, with coverage of 250 million by the end of this year.
