BSkyB reports double digit growth in revenue

British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB) has reported results for the nine months ended 31 March 2010 which show a 11% jump in revenue to GBP4.383 billion (USD6.66 billion) and a 4% increase in operating profit to GBP645 million.

Cash generated from operations increased by 20% to GBP925 million. In terms of key performance indicators, the group claimed 9.77 million customers in total, of which 2.505 million took broadband, 2,230 million telephony and 1.472 million line rental. Over 1.9 million, or 19% of the total subscriber base, choose Sky’s triple-play bundle of TV, broadband and telephony services.

The company said it continues to make good progress on migrating its customers to fully unbundled local loops, with 688,000 customers on its network at the end of March.
