Canadian enterprise RuggedCom Inc. ("RuggedCom"), being renown provider of rugged telecommunication networking solutions specifically created for mission-critical deployments in harsh environments, releases the RuggedSwitch named RS900GP.
This completely managed Layer-2 Ethernet switch is characterized with two gigabit Ethernet uplink ports and eight 802.3at compatible Fast Ethernet copper ports for backing up high power (PoE+) devices. Designed to work resiliently in harsh industrial environments, the RS900GP is able to overcome any problems associated with the high level of electromagnetic interference and heavy electrical surges typical of mission-critical deployments. A normal operating temperature varies from -40°C to +85°C and rugged cast aluminum materiel is some of the innovative and unique features of the product. The integrated Rugged Operating System (ROS) ensures advanced networking features such as Enhanced Rapid Spanning Tree (eRSTPTM), port rate limiting and a full array of intelligent functionality for high network availability and manageability. "The RuggedSwitch RS900GP provides customers with an ample, flexible high-performance managed switch in a compact form factor," describes Jim Slinowsky, RuggedCom Director of Marketing. "With its PoE+ capabilities, clients can deploy a broad range of devices including surveillance cameras, critical alarm units, wireless access points, voice terminals and our own RuggedMAXTM 4G broadband wireless appliactions."
