In full compliance with the common marketing trends of the enterprises seeking for potential sources for cloud adoption, enterprise Citrix has launched CloudStack3, the company’s first experience in the open source cloud platform in framework of Citrix brand since acquiring Cloud.com in 2011.

Along with the new CloudStack 3 release, Citrix delivers “the power of true Amazon-style clouds,” making corporate customers to find out a way to quickly and conveniently transform virtualized data center resources into automated, flexible, self-service clouds, in accordance with the statement of Sameer Dholakia, group vice president and GM, Cloud Platforms Group, Citrix. “Once configured correctly, cloud computing ensures much higher efficiency, unlimited scaling options and faster deployment of new services to the end-user, therefore changing the arrangements of the data center by moving the main focus of delivery of IT resources to an on-demand model,” Dholakia explained in a statement. CloudStack is a platform for public clouds, generating more than $1 billion in revenue for nearly one hundred large-scale production clouds, including some of the most massive brands in the VoIP industry, company officials said. “With extremely close integration with the Citrix cloud portfolio, our clients receive access to an unsurpassed set of cloud virtualization, orchestration and networking solutions that are not only technology cutting edge in class individually and optimized to run collectively, but also created to work with the hardware, software and management products customers already have integrated in their daily operations,” Dholakia added.Citrix emphasized several new capabilities in CloudStack 3, which focus on “openness, flexibility and completeness.”CloudStack 3 offers a cloud optimized virtualization platform, network-as-a-service integration as well as a built-in network services list of services. In addition to NetScaler integration, CloudStack keeps on with the allowing service providers to upsell network services through the creation of custom catalogs of network service options. Citrix also described its user interface as “brilliantly simple,” providing an out-of-the-box user experience that “allows even the most novice cloud user to quickly build, launch and manage their own workloads on the cloud.” Since Citrix acquired Cloud.com in 2011, the CloudStack.org open source community has demonstrated approximately a four-times growth in uses, with more than 25,000 cloud builders around the globe now signed up as active members of the CloudStack.org community, Citrix boasted.The beta version of CloudStack 3 can be downloaded from company’s website. Company officials said the complete production version will be available within the current quarter.
