Datacraft completes network upgrade for SK Broadband
14.03.2010
South Korean telco SK Broadband (SKB) and Datacraft, a wholly owned
subsidiary of global IT solutions and services provider Dimension Data,
have completed a project that saw the latter expand SKB’s network
capacity with a view to addressing rising demand for multimedia
services.
Under the terms of the contract Datacraft deployed 32 Points of Presence (PoP) from four PoP hubs, expanding coverage nationwide, with the work completed in a single month. Datacraft designed a new architecture to support an improved IP backbone over the four PoP hubs, which are sited in Kangbuk, Kangnam, Seobu and Dongbu.
The agreement is the second between the two companies. In mid-2009 Datacraft completed a network expansion project for SKB which enabled a host of new IP-based multimedia services for both corporate and residential customers.
