Filipino telecoms operator Digital Telecommunications Philippines (Digitel), which offers mobile services under the Sun Cellular banner, plans to invest USD250 million in its networks and services this year.
Dow Jones Newswires cites a Digitel statement to the local stock exchange in which it says its CAPEX will be designed to ensure improved service quality for its eleven million-strong subscriber base.

The telco, which is the country's third largest cellco by subscribers and a unit of conglomerate JG Summit Holdings Inc, invested USD350 million in FY2009, including the deployment of new base stations to boost its total to over 5,000.
