Dutch government deploys comprehencive VoIP applications
The cluster of companies consisting with Mitel, Detron ICT and Telecom Groep have successfully finalised the stringent process of compatibility testing for VoIP applications, in order to be integrated into Dutch government's OT2010 program’s telecommunications developments segment.
Telecommunications utilities and platforms across nearly 100 Dutch governmental entities will be upgraded as an element of the eight year initiative, named OT2010. The project will also contain the deployment of more than 100,000 IP ports. Detron was acquired the contract earlier this year. Press release, distributed by Detron, explains the detail of deal and George Banken, CEO at the company stated , "We worked with the maximum effort along with Mitel to fulfil the proof of delivery and make it absolutely clear that we have addressed all of the Dutch government's needs and requirements. We are delighted to have massively positive results of merely elaborated operational analysis executed by authorised representatives of OT2010, and we are endorsed now to commence the work for a long roster of national governmental entities in the Netherlands." The specific OT2010 selection committee had launched up more than 300 evaluation and decision making criteria for selection process prior the contract. Detron and Mitel had to demonstrate their capability to cover these criteria before the contract was approved. The Dutch government verified thoroughly the telephony communications procedures and amenities within the contact centers, unified communications concept and VoIP services current collaboration, unified messaging and fixed to mobile operational synergy and capabilities, as well as service and security of the Mitel product lineup. The Dutch government's earlier deployments of VoIP applications and utilities connected with the OT2006 program had integrated Mitel IP technology. Finally, as the outcome of this deployment, Mitel has acquired the OT2010 contract. Mitel’s spokesman Gijs Borsboom commented, "We are honoured to be winning the OT2006 contract, and, of course, with the good result of Mitel, demonstrating the premier performance of its VoIP technology. The proof of delivery was totally stringent and differentiated process with our successful fulfilment of all tasks. We have demonstrated again that our VoIP telecommunications solutions can address and support the toughest requirements of government bodies now and in always in the future. Together with the in-depth expertise and experience with big sized governmental bodies of our implementation partner Detron, we are expecting to get a successful products delivery." Enterprise level VoIP communications, dedicated collaboration software and services are delivered by Mitel.
