French telecoms provider deploys Acme's Session Borders Controllers for VoIP transition
Enterprise Acme Packet, the well positioned industry player in segment of session networks, has announced that French enterprise Bouygues Telecom, one of the major wired and mobile services provider, has started the implementation of Acme Packet Net-Net border controllers (SBCs) in company’s Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network, manufactured and integrated by Alcatel-Lucent.
Acme Packet's products cover differentiated IMS functionalities as in matter of network access, as in procedures of bridging the networks. Bouygues Telecom is utilizing IMS to backup several services, such as transfer of existing residential VoIP, interconnectivity with other telecoms and services providers and bringing up new services, such as video voice mail.
