Enterprise SPIRIT DSP, one of the global most prominent VoIP and video over IP solutions and platforms provider, has announced recently that Huawei Technologies, the world's second-biggest telecommunications hardware and utilities manufacturer, has endorsed its license with SPIRIT DSP for wideband Mobile VoIP and video calling.
Huawei's product line and services are used in more than 100 countries and deployed by 45 of the world’s largest 50 telecom operators. The agreement confirms Huawei, a reliable SPIRIT customer since 2007, to issue license for SPIRIT's TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine Mobile. The wide distribution and growing popularity of 3G and 4G smartphone devices, supported by the emergence of applications and ever faster connectivity and the increasing marketing presence of tablet PCs (which is apparently becoming one of the most widely deployed business collaboration machinery), makes it well leveraged platform for designing applications that integrate real-time, VoIP and videoconferencing. Recent Jupiter Research foresees that mobile VoIP consumers will surpass 100 million by 2012 and In-Stat projects 288 million mobile VoIP subscribers by 2013. Findings from a recent study from Allot Communications describe VoIP and instant messaging (IM) procedures to became the fastest growing technology type in the first two quarters of this year, with increasing usage by 101 percent. Video streaming came in second at 93 percent.
