Alternative Spanish fixed line operator Jazz Telecom (Jazztel) is to boost the upload speed of its ADSL services for existing customers free of charge, according to Trading Markets.
The telco has revealed the speed increases will only apply to those subscribers signed up to its packages with downlink speeds of either 6Mbps or 10Mbps, and as a result of the upgrade customers on Jazztel’s own network that are signed up to the 6Mbps service will see upload speeds increase from 512kbps to 1Mbps.

Those customers that are off-network and signed up for 10Mbps download speeds will see upload rates climb from 320kbps to 800kbps; Jazztel has also said that any customers currently on its 7Mbps (down) and 640kbps (up) service will be upgraded to the 10Mbps/800kbps package.

The telco said that the new upload speeds will be gradually introduced from the middle of this month, and the upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
