Logitech releases universal webcamera for VoIP telepresence in intra-mode of an enterprise
Enterprise Logitech has rolled out an innovative and brand new marketing category in frameworks of Unified Communications concept and ultimate telepresence: the universal multipurpose ConferenceCam. Tagged as the Logitech BCC 950, it is the very first telecoms utility to combining complete HD webcam with a omni-directional duplex speakers in one single USB connectivity device.
This tool is designed to enable relatively small teams and groups to communicate freely in conference rooms, distributed all around offices or even shared working places. The new product features a HD webcam with automated and movements enabled pan, making easily tilt and zoom for effective capturing everyone into the active screen – as from a control bar on the firmware or with an intuitive use remote control. Both control utilities can also be used to answer incoming calls, terminate calls, adjust the speakers in terms of volume and muting. Specifically designed for Microsoft Lync and Skype Certified, the BCC950 ConferenceCam is compatible with all major UC platforms. Attached with a broad 78-degree spanning d of view and 180-degree video pan, 1080p backup, 30fps HD by means of plug-and-go UVC coded H.264 video, and a speakers with microphone that ensure everyone involved in an event to hear and be clearly heard within as much as up to three meters range. The ConferenceCam factually eliminates the squeeze of groups sticking around a PC to be visually available and heard during UC intercourses. Weighing only 9 kilos, the ConferenceCam can be shifted easily between locations, allowing for previously unplanned ad-hoc meetings anywhere users can install a PC. "The high potential of unified communications is boosting real collaboration amongst differentiated geographical locations and remote devices, ensuring true flexibility of working together wherever employees are," explained Giovann Mezgec, manager general for Lync at Microsoft Corp. "The innovative Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam widens up the advantages of UC in the big corporation by delivering a handy, high-quality solution for small group conferencing. Traditionally, we have quite many remote employees and agents, and face-to-face time being among them is of extremely high value, but we haven't had a relevant engine for small-group telepresence support," noted Jim Hayes, IT specialist for 24HourFlex. "We've been probing several integral pieces of the Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam for almost two months and it's attested itself to be almost ideal piece of equipment for this operational designation. We can now easily and momentarily launch audio and video presence to any office with a compact device that ensures call quality as required." The Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam is extremely convenient for meetings of one to four individuals, as in conference halls as in small offices. Webcam’s sensors and specific Logitech RightLight technology ensure visual quality in extremely low light and backlit conditions, attached with a space craft performance Carl Zeiss lens and autofocus capabilities allow visual view of detailed documents and written materials, without compromising on image quality. "The office workplace is moving incrementally to smaller and virtual teams, and means of telecommunications stay behind somehow," stated Eric Kintz, business general manager of Logitech. "In selecting priority needs of our customers, we figured out a gap in technologies that delivers audio and video to small consumers groups. The innovative Logitech BCC950 ConferenceCam designed to fill up the gap by conjoining webcam and speakerphone into one single device – thus turning PC into telecoms platforms, so companies can set up much more locations for small-group conferences and intercourses."
