Motorola wins Zains 3G network

Zain Kuwait has outsourced the management of its network to Motorola by entering into a three-year deal with the U.S. vendor.
Motorola will operate and oversee Zain Kuwait’s 3G network and will also look into ongoing design, planning, support and optimisation, reports.

Zain Kuwait has become the latest operator in the region to outsource the management of a key part of its network after signing a three-year managed services contract with US vendor Motorola. Under the contract, Motorola will operate and manage Zain Kuwait's 3G network and will also be responsible for ongoing design, planning, support and optimisation. Khaled Al Hajeri, CEO of Zain Kuwait, said the deal was intended to help the company improve its network while boosting operating margins and increasing productivity.

Zain and Motorola also have existing contracts in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria and Jordan for several different technologies, network domains and service functions.
