Ghanaian telecoms group MTN Ghana has reportedly commenced a feasibility study concerning plans to offer broadband services via a submarine fibre-optic cable to oil companies operating offshore in the country.
Ghana News Agency cites a statement from MTN’s corporate services director Mrs. Mawuena Trebarh in which she says: ‘MTN Ghana intends to build and operate an Offshore Broadband Network for the Petroleum Industry in Ghana through its partnership with Pard Energy.’

It is understood MTN Ghana will look to collaborate with Norway-based Pard Energy to raise awareness vis a vis the technological and financial opportunities to be had from embracing broadband voice and data services.
