Municipality deploys Toshiba's Strata CIX VoIP system for internal networking
Company Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., has deployed their assets in City of White Salmon, providing universal connectivity for community, employees and network with Toshiba's Strata CIX IP business telephone systems.
The City of White Salmon is one of the leading centers of the world's famous windsurfing and kiteboarding. Leana Johnson, IT specialist for the City, figured out the necessity for a business telephone system that would address the municipal telecommunications objectives, such as having just one business telephony network for all city departments in five different spots, such as city hall, police station, public department, fire brigade, and the public pool. There was need to use the centric approach to all telephony applications, such as voice mail, auto attendant and deploy call transfers with direct extensions to be dialed between destinations. There was the need to support all networking locations together by means of wi-fi point-to-point connectivity, backed up by complete encryption. Additionally, network should be affordable and reliable, making dynamic mixture of IP, digital and analog endpoints. Company Toshiba Dealer NW Communication Systems has established services and technical support for the municipality. The solution included Strata CIX100 business telephony network at City Hall, supported by endpoints at all other municipal destinations, by use of 30Mb fully encrypted wireless point-to-point links. There were used 27 ports at all locations with a selection of IP, digital, and analog yet wireless endpoints. Centric voice mail and auto attendant, as well as unified messaging system for particular users. As the result, calls proceed through the receptionist or directly to every detachment, thus making sure that calls are attended and routed to the relevant person. Callers can efficiently leave messages in the certain voice mailbox. By deployment of conjoint messaging, consumers can get their voice mail efficiently from their email inboxes. Also, the City's remote workers can have their telephones with them wherever they go. Depending on an office reconfiguration, the IP proceed with the worker, removing the need for expensive calls. Additionally, the networking "Find-me, Follow-me" application is useful to the fire brigades. Previously the City was accustomed to have to set up a temporary telephony line for the season when the pool was open. Now, they can use the wired telephone always. Centralized Toshiba Strata CIX telephone systems have met all the demands of the City of White Salmon's communications objectives. "Two companies, Toshiba and NW Communication Systems worked on our basic objectives of centralized applications, wireless connectivity between locations, and the whole minimized costs. With the deployment of Toshiba and NW Communication Systems, we have a win-win result," commented Leana Johnson, IT manager City of White Salmon.
