Company netTALK, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC), said in an official press release, that its smartphone application has been recognized as the most downloaded iTunes application in Canada, even surpassing Facebook and Skype. Company also offers well developed products, solutions and connectivity network phone service for the use of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
The smartphone application is a free application and is accessible from the Apple iTunes App Store. The product enables users to forward free calls to North America destinations via 3G, WiFi or EDGE networks, without spending relatively expensive monthly cell phone minutes.

It is fully compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Android, Blackberry and Windows Mobile. Another prominent venture of netTALK is netTALK DUO which also offers free calls to U.S. and Canada by directly connecting to internet via the computer or router.

In order to get access to the scheme, a customer has to create a netTALK Smartphone Account. Then he/she can download and install the application to the mobile phone. Then they will be using their user name and password to gain access into the netTALK smartphone Application. The users can now start calling their contacts for free and invite them to do the same.

The app also includes unique enhanced 911 services wherein the user can call to the most appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in case of emergency by entering the address they want associated with E911 into netTALK's online customer account manager. The phone number they select when they login becomes their caller ID. This application also encourages Three Way Calling.
