Network Equipment Technologies releases upgraded UX1000 series VoIP switching tool
Company Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NET) has announced the general availability of the UX1000, a multi-purpose integrated appliance for office communications implementation. The UX1000 is the most new product built on the company's Unified Exchange (UX) Series comprehensive mediation platform.
With the deploying UX1000, NET has massively expanded the spectrum of operational capabilities that can be met by the UX Series for Microsoft Lync applications, by ensuring a solution relevant for small- to mid-sized branch offices. The UX1000 delivers to mid-size businesses real access to "enterprise level" unified communications (UC) without additional financial resources. "The process of outreaching unified communications systems to dispersed offices imposes considerable challenges for enterprises, including disaster recovery anticipated procedures, establishing firewalls, ensuring security for UC regular traffic, and deploying tools for the real-time measurements of network issues," said Kevin Isacks, Acting Chief Development Officer at NET. "We are happy to roll out the UX1000, which designed to deal with these challenges." NET's UX1000 SolutionThe UX1000 offers mere "any-to-any" signaling transforming, media interworking, and edge–to–edge security between Microsoft Lync and SIP Trunks, TDM and IP PBX's, legacy analog ends, and the PSTN. The UX1000 also ensures interconnectivity amongst different IP-based endpoints. With NET's optional SmartSIP deployment, enterprises can also to keep going non-Lync SIP clients in their Lync environment. Extra features include the following: A spectrum of I/O and call capacities (4 to 84 concurrent connections between VoIP and PSTN/analog recipients). Support for up to 45 IP to IP calls. SRTP (secured VoIP media) and TLS (secured VoIP signaling) are completely backed with no impact on call quality. Comprehensive voice media quality, because of the most modern generation embedded IP switching tools at the core of the UX1000 system. Advanced call re-routing features such as Active Directory/LDAP server routing integration, on-board call separation(from any source to up to eight different destinations), and other flexible routing options to assist with Lync shift in branch offices. Integrated Enterprise Session Border Controller along with integrated enterprise session border controller (E-SBC), the UX1000 enables Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) to ensure SIP Trunking services to branch offices. UX Series portfolio is built on a modular so called 1U platform that has been specifically built for unified communications and enterprise session border controller deployments. As a session mediation platform, UX Series products minimizes as capital and operational expenses by eliminating the need to buy separate infrastructure elements such as a PSTN gateway, session border controller, and application server. The UX Series is qualified as a Survivable Branch Appliance for Microsoft Lync 2010. Safe single Web Interface tool allows the network operator remotely adjust any UX Series appliance in real time, minimizing operational expenses. The operator can see the top-level view of the relationships between the Microsoft Lync Survivable Branch Appliance, telephony cards, DSP modules, channels, and ports. It also empowers a user to configure IP interfaces, routing protocols, calling routes, digit manipulation, and the Survivable Branch Appliance. The web-based GUI interface can also be utilized for real-time verifying of channels and alarm activity. The integrated web-based monitoring tool provides real-time monitoring of all channels and alarm activity in UX Series nodes and allows network operators to view real-time call data.
