Businesses increasingly confident on using VoIP systems

A recent study by AMI partners showed that SMEs expect to increase their overall IT spend by ten per cent over the coming year, with the introduction of VoIP seen as major driver of this growth.
Other research by silicon.com found that two-thirds of businesses were now initiating or actively implementing rollout of VoIP systems across some or all areas of their business.
"Lower cost of calls is always attractive but the main driver is a single point which can consolidate email, voicemail and faxes in one place accessible by one device," Graham Yellowley, director of technology services at investment bank Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International, told the website.
VoIP systems have also recently been rolled out in many public sector areas, including throughout a new office building for Gloucestershire Police, although emergency 999 calls are not yet being fielded by the new technology.
