TIM Brasil targets 60 percent pop coverage for 3G by 2012
Brazilian mobile operator TIM Brasil plans to extend its 3G mobile network coverage to around 60% of the population by 2012, BNamericas quotes the company’s chief executive Luca Luciani as saying.

Call interception issues led to STel service halt request?
Following revelations earlier this week that the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had directed new mobile operator STel, a joint venture between Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco) and Chennai-based Siva Group, to halt services in the three circles it has launched in, the Economic Times claims that the government has clarified the reason for its action.

Singapore reports solid ICT sector growth despite economic downturn

Sonaecom: Q4 net profit falls 77%
Portuguese telco Sonaecom has posted net profit of EUR3.1 million (USD4.24 million) for the three months ended 31 December 2009, down 77% from EUR13.1 million in the same period a year earlier.
