Corporate VoIP communication becomes popular in Russia 2007-08-08
MFI Soft, the Russian VoIP software solutions vendor has drawn up the poll results of the communication operators, using VoIP technology to develop their networks. In the international survey, carried out in Summer, 2007, more than 100 communication operators participated, who are MFI Soft clients, including more than 30 operators from Russia and CIS.

The poll results prove that at present provision of voice communication through IP to corporate clients is as widely spread as the customary card telephony and VoIP-traffic wholesale. At the same time, according to the similar poll, held in 2006, the VoIP-service to switch on final users grew by 20%.

Besides, the research shows the voice VAS-services (IVR, announcement, voting, etc.) are not currently widely spread in the Russian market. The mentioned services are provided by 11% of the respondent operators. At the same time, about third of the respondents assert they intend to provide voice VAS-services within the coming year, which proves the attractiveness of the mentioned segment for Russian operators.

Answering the question about the main tendencies of the VoIP-market development, the representatives of the Russian communication operators named switch to IP-telephony, IP-communication, and NGN-networks, replacement of the customary Public Switch Telephone Network for soft switch and creation of integrated IP-services surrounding.

One of the survey aims is to reveal the most important for operators functions of soft switches IV and V, MFI Soft is engaged in developing of. Within the poll, the Russian, CIS and Baltic States Operators note, the most important characteristics of MVTS II, IV class program switchboards are the developed analysis system, routing according to the quality and cost, as well as the possibility to switch on to the inner billing system (through the RADIUS protocol). Among the most demanded functions of MFI Soft SIPrise Centrex, the V class switchboard, the operators name calls switch-over and forwarding, conference communication, set up IVR, voice mail, and virtual IP-PBX.
