EQO Announces Global Mobile VoIP Service Expansion 2008-02-13
EQO Communications has expanded its low-cost mobile VoIP service extending the availability of EQO's calling services from its original 30 countries to more than 200 countries including India, Russia, the Philippines and Brazil.

EQO’s free application brings free international texting as well as free instant messaging to mobile phones. Leveraging this recent service expansion, all EQO users across the globe can now use EQO to make cheap calls. All EQO calling users can also access EQO’s presence feature, which displays in real time when their EQO friends are online and available to receive phone calls.

Bill Tam, EQO’s CEO finds mobile calling rates still ridiculously high in many countries. He explained in a statement that the company wanted to break through the cost barriers by providing an easy, cost-effective option for everyone to stay in touch with friends and family in more places around the world.

Users can download EQO to their mobile phone for free. This true mobile application does not require a computer, WiFi connection or new contract. Thanks to EQO, users can chat on the go for free using MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, QQ, AIM, ICQ and Jabber, or call or text anyone in the world at super- low rates. In addition, they can invite their friends to join EQO, and call them at 50 percent off EQO's regular calling rates or message them for free.

Available in multiple languages, this application works with a wide range of handsets from major manufacturers such as Nokia, Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, LG,BlackBerry and HTC, bringing the benefits of VoIP, IM, chat and social networking to regular, everyday mobile phones.
