Nortel VoIP, data products to be sold by computer retailer Dell

Under the agreement, Dell will offer Nortel\'s enterprise products, including those developed under an alliance between Nortel and Microsoft, consisting of voice, data, wireless and optical hardware.
\"Two world-class companies are combining their collective strengths to both speed up and make it simple for business customers of all sizes to enjoy the benefits of unified communications,\" said Joel Hackney, president of Nortel Enterprise Solutions.
\"Communications and business processes no longer have to be separated. This Nortel-Dell alliance accelerates the transition to a business environment in which they are fully aligned.\"
The companies said Dell will combine its expertise in designing and deploying solutions for PCs, servers, and storage with Nortel\'s voice-over-Internet protocol, data networking and multimedia-conferencing solutions.
Shares in Toronto-based Nortel (TSX:NT) were down 59 cents at $ 15.83 in Tuesday afternoon trading on the TSX.
