DoCoMo starts taking shipments of Fujitsu LTE base stations
Japanese IT-based business solutions provider Fujitsu today announced that it has begun shipping next generation mobile base station systems to the country’s largest cellco by subscribers NTT DoCoMo, ahead of its planned launch of Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in December 2010.

Mexico government to fine Telmex?

Pannon to rebrand under Telenor banner
Hungary’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers Pannon is to be renamed Telenor, local newswire MTI reports without citing its sources. Pannon, a wholly owned subsidiary of Telenor of Norway, was the first firm to offer GSM-based services in the country when it launch in 1994.

TU SR authorises cellcos’ LTE public tests
Slovakia’s Telecommunications Office (TU SR) permitted Telefonica O2 Slovakia to test mobile data services over 2600MHz Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in a public network in the Banska Bystrica area until 31 July 2010.
