VoIP client targets Pocket PCs 2007-04-23
NCH Swift Sound has released a VoIP client for handheld devices running Microsoft's Pocket PC software platforms. "Express Talk for Pocket PCs" offers mobile users most of the VoIP capabilities of the company's desktop PC version, including call recording, conferencing, and push-to-talk, the company said.

"One of the best features carried over from the original PC version is the clean and modern interface," said Stephanie Lee, marketing and sales manager for NCH Swift Sound. "We have deliberately stayed away from the ultra-modern look of our competitors, and this decision has enabled us to carry over a similar clean interface to the smaller Pocket PC screens."

The company claims to have leveraged its expertise in audio technology to create a product that offers similar functionality to that offered by its competitors, but with "uncompromised" audio.

"We started off by developing audio technology for business telephone systems, and it is still our primary focus today. If the quality of the telephone call is affected by the application, then there is no point offering one hundred and one features," said Lee.

Express Talk for Pocket PCs handhelds running Microsoft's Windows CE- and Windows Mobile-based Pocket PC software platforms on ARM, SH3, and MIPS processors. Free trial and paid versions of the software can be downloaded from the company's website.
