VoIP Functionality Added To LG Prada Phone 2007-04-02
Moving away from a sexy touch screen handset with no discernable release date to one just a few weeks away, LG's Prada phone has added an impressive feature just before launch: VoIP.

The provider is Jajah, which itself has accumulated a customer base of over 2m in its first year – with LG agreeing to preload all its Prada phones with the mobile software Jajah first announced in September last year. The deal means owners of the sexy touch screen device will – networks allowing – have access to low cost national and international call rates with just one click.

On average Jajah claims calls rates on its service are 91 per cent than on a standard mobile contract with Vodafone, 67% with Orange, 87% with T-Mobile and 88% with O2. This can be reduced further if both the caller and the person being called are Jajah members. A full rates table is available here.

In one of the most reasonable company statements I've read in a long time Jajah CEO Roman Scharf declared: "Jajah aims not only to be the smartest and the cheapest phone service around the globe, but also the most transparent. In a world where so many companies say 'service is free', customers deserve to know exactly what they are getting. It's part of brand to provide that kind of clarity to our customers, and it is one reason the Jajah global community is growing so quickly."

Signing up to Jajah is free and, providing networks are happy to allow Jajah (an admittedly big but) it seems you'd be quite the plonker not to use it.
