Woize: The British are Coming, And They're Bringing VoIP 2007-01-12
Certain to increase competition among today’s service providers, Woize International is stepping beyond its UK roots and expanding its services to all 50 U.S. states and introducing U.S. numbers (DID’s) for its digital communication service offerings during February 2007.

The introduction of telephone numbers in 50 American states will expand the current Woize service offering by giving consumers and branding partners the opportunity to benefit from Woize’s low-cost calling plans, and an expanding number of destinations. American resident users and individuals or companies with frequent American contact, will be given the opportunity to test a new nationalIP telephony provider. Woize’s introduction of U.S. numbers creates healthy competition and provides an effective alternative to other providers likeSkype and Vonage.

Anders Halldin, CEO and co-founder of Woize International stated, “This is a major step for Woize. The American market holds great potential for substantial revenues. We will also challenge our competitors to offer Voice over IP users even lower prices combined with our other value added services that enable us yet other revenue streams”.

This isn’t the first time Woize has taken steps to challenge Skype-type competitors. In October, the company announced plans to offer a complete OS portfolio — already having announced Mac OS plans and now announcing plans to launch a Woize BETA client for Linux OS in Q4. Linux is one of the most prominent examples of open source development and free software, its underlying source code is available for anyone to use, modify, and redistribute freely. This implies a broad user reach, from private persons to large enterprises.
