YFonGlobal Intros First Social Network Marketing Platform Integrated with VoIP 2006-11-07
Everyone knows that the Internet is rapidly evolving into an “ecosystem” where everything is accessible and can be freely combined with anything else to create “mashups” of every imaginable size and variety.

With Web 2.0, a lot more becomes possible – as users we will be able to “lease” whatever software we want (even if just for a few days); use “intelligent” search engines which only search the sites they’re programmed to search; and create our own “virtual worlds,” including, but not limited to, custom Web portals tailored to hold only the contents we want them to hold. Social networking sites such as MySpace, LiveJournal and YouTube are just the beginning of this trend. These powerful Web sites not only give users the ability to post messages, photos and video clips in infinite combination and with the greatest of ease (users can even create customized presentations to “market” themselves to others), they also give users the ability to call one another in real time from their computers with just the click of the mouse.

Facilitating this new form of spontaneous communication is VoIP, the technology that allows one to make phone calls over the Internet. Many social networking sites are now incorporating “click to call” VoIP in order to give their users the ability to reach out and contact each other in completely un-restrained fashion - and for no cost. This not only lets users communicate more freely, it also lets them call advertisers in order to get additional information about products and services. Soon, you won’t have to read an advertisement to learn whether the product or service really meets your needs – all you’ll have to do is just click on the ad itself in order to initiate a VoIP phone call, which in turn will connect you to a customer service representative or sales person who will give all the info you need - right there, on the spot. Such is the “viral” nature of Web 2.0.

One of the companies that is helping make this happen is YFonGlobal. The Washington D.C-based company, which develops the platforms used for delivering the functionality to social networking sites, just recently announced availability of WindStorm, one of the first “private-label” social network marketing platforms pre-integrated with VoIP. The hosted ASP solution, which is customizable for any brand, lets online marketers “deploy, manage, grow, and monitor experiential, viral, and grassroots communities in as few as 10 working days.”

According to YFonGlobal, the solution “fosters virtual peer-to-peer interactions within a digital community of brand consumers, along with a brand’s marketing team of ‘cyber reps.’ The result is a virtual group of highly engaged customers who freely share their thoughts and experiences in real-time via a rich array of community features.”

In addition to offering Instant Messaging and VoIP calling, the platform also offers shared calendaring and workspace (so marketers can coordinate street teams in the field); message boards (for comment or gossip on a variety of hot issues, including breaking news); photo, video, audio and document posting (for publishing member content); and marketers analytics (so brand teams can gain insights into their community’s group activities in order to motivate, instruct, and profile program participants).

“Offering a turn-key collaborative program enhances a marketing company’s ability to motivate, manage, and monitor street teams on a large-scale basis,” said YFonGlobal CEO Marian Sabety in a press release. “Being fast, flexible, and responsive is crucial for an effective word-of-mouth campaign and WindStorm provides the tools to roll-out, manage, and fine-tune large grassroots campaigns at rapid fire pace.”

Street Attack, a Boston-based alternative marketing agency, is reportedly the first company to use the new solution.

Brett Zaccardi, CEO of Street Attack, is apparently impressed with the platform’s capabilities, saying in the release that it “offers the most extensive, feature-rich menu for online collaboration” out of the online marketing solutions currently available.

”We expect this solution to bolster management and inter-team communications,” he said. “Our street teams will be able to send and review messages, coordinate activities, view campaign results, and manage grassroots organic marketing campaigns.”

Street Attack is partnering with YFonGlobal and will be offering feedback and advice on the features and functionality of the platform during the current trial stage. The company already works with several Fortune 100 brands.
