UK regulator Ofcom has outlined a proposal to cut mobile termination rates in stages from GBP0.043 (USD0.065) to just GBP0.005 per minute by 2015.
The watchdog says the change would lead to cheaper calls to mobile phones, and plans to make a final decision on the matter in the second half of this year.

Ofcom has also issued new rules to make it quicker and easier to switch mobile phone providers.

Customers should, by 2011, be able to change operators in one working day rather than two.
