Panasonic VoIP telephones become sertified with Metaswitch software
Panasonic System Networks Company, renown as the industry giant of phone systems for small and medium sized businesses, has announced the completion of certification process to ensure interoperability of the KX-UT line of SIP telephones with Metaswitch Networks' platform, an action that means full admission into Metaswitch Networks' Mosaic Partner Program.
A prominent provider of next generation communication carrier utilities and software applications, Metaswitch Networks' Mosaic Partner Program delivers an operational framework for third-party vendors to make solutions certified with the company's fundamental platforms. Panasonic's KX-UT series had to undergo a stringent set of interoperability tests, designed to evaluate basic functionality, advanced calling features, scalability and reliability. Panasonic's new KX-UT series was released in August 2011 and ensures a communications solution for companies that implement the cutting edge Hosted and Open Source PBX technology. Featuring wide-band, high-definition audio (G. 722 codec) paired with Echo Cancellation mode and an dedicated acoustic chamber, the KX-UT series provides crystal sound quality for impeccable conversation. The telephones are associated with in-built high-quality speakers and microphones and are compatible with Plantronics' line of DECT wireless headsets, ensuring hands-free conversation. Models in the KX-UT series are built to complement a company's current portfolio and communication infrastructure, yielding a low total cost of ownership. Select models feature two data ports, so users can connect a second network utility without the time and expense of running an additional Ethernet cable. All KX-UT series models are Power over Ethernet (PoE) ready which prevents the needs for extra electrical adaptors. The energy-saving Eco Mode offers lowered power consumption and a two-year limited warranty protects a user's investment well into the life of the phone. "As an industry leader in business telephony systems, Panasonic is always focused for delivering innovative capabilities and superior performance that offer reliable, flexible and cost-effective communications solutions for our small to mid-sized business customers," said Bill Taylor, President, Panasonic System Networks Company of America. "By operating with an extensive array of solutions partners we are able to expand the interoperability of our phone systems to include a variety of network platforms and ensure our customers have a wide range of options to meet their business communications needs." "By means of our relationship with Panasonic, we are able to offer our customers a highly-integrated and reliable communications system that addresses all of their business requirements," said Ken Cavanaugh, Director of Business Development for Metaswitch. "Panasonic provides Metaswitch customers with the advanced calling features and functionality required to keep leveraged competitiveness level, while offering the scalability needed to support the initial investment.
