Proximetry and Cisco release an innovative grid ecosystem project
Enterprises Cisco and Proximetry Inc., being an authorised member of Cisco's Connected Grid ecosystem, are massively expanding their partnership aimed to address the stringent performance operational management requirements of multifaceted Field Area Network (FAN) GridBlocks with so called AirSync.
Cisco and Proximetry have a joint anticipations that sophisticate smart grids are the synergy of two-pace power-flow grids with IP-built multiservice telecommunications networking, software, and firmware, to efficiently track down, control, and manage the producing, distribution, storage, and mere consumption of energy. Dynamic performance handling and control are crucial in IP-based multiservice networks to adjust the network management taxonomy with the solution’s necessity to monitor, control and manage a tremendous and differentiated array of loosely coupled utilities. The huge amount of renewables, electric hardware and energy storage provide a multifaceted networking technologies, codecs, and digital standards. Cisco and Proximetry are conjoined in the approach that products such as the recently released Cisco CGR 1240 are the platform for the implementation of such advanced smart grids. "Cisco is delighted to be working with Proximetry and the AirSync solution, which support the Connected Grid Field Area Network application by means of enhanced RF management features. As a basic partner in frames of the Connected Grid ecosystem in the Cisco Developer Network, AirSync extends the visibility in the Field Area Network GridBlocks with unique performance management capabilities," said Jennifer Lin, Sr. Director of Product Marketing from Cisco's Connected Energy Networks BU. This partnership expands the Connected Grid ecosystem, establishing the Cisco and Itron's complete FAN solution, which integrates Itron's smart grid utilities onto the Cisco IPv6-based network - all with the joint goal of addressing major utility challenges of cost, reliability and operational scalability in associated telecommunications infrastructures. "We are sure that Cisco and Proximetry's joint work to collaborate dynamic performance management throughout multiple network technologies is real evidence that the Connected Grid Ecosystem continues to grow up positively. Our joint vision of a really open, highly scalable suite of offerings that build off of each other will be a success for solutions, as well as consumers. It's not more of the same," said Simon Pontin, Chief Technology Officer at Itron."Cisco and Proximetry have been collaborating to synergize the architectural imperatives, levels of integration, and developing standards required to make the management of FAN connections easier, more open, more secure, and more scalable. Our unified solutions deliver comprehensive performance management, service assurance and security services to wireless users and devices," said Tracy Trent, CEO of Proximetry. "We look forward to our permanent collaboration for years to come." About Proximetry Proximetry is a leading global wireless network and performance management solutions provider for the energy, telecommunications, and transportation industries.
