Research on use of Google in Unified Communications and Collaboration UC&C concept

nemertes
Company Nemertes Research did an annual research, polling 200 related companies about the technology they use and has found appalling facts about cloud based services and specifically Google. Nemertes Co. researcher Irwin Lazar says about clear unwillingness of Unified Communications and Collaboration concept involved companies to see Google as a serious player in that field.
50.2 % percents of Companies pooled will not use Google as the partner because of reasons as follows:

1. Security: some companies would not even indexed themselves for searching in Google, needless to say about trusting data to Google. This unwillingness is based on US Patriot Act, regarding on companies outside US. However Google clearly defines the safety and security of entrusted data to process.

2. Clearly defined Support. Direct support model would not work in case with Google, when CSC (Computers Science Corporations) delivers enterprise class support; still custom developed applications and local storages options are in heavy lack of availability.

As mentioned in research, Google's office-in-the-cloud applications combined with Google Voice and the expected appearing Google Voice softphone are promising reasons to consider Google as a vendor, but the poll clearly defines some legitimate barriers for Google to overcome. Unified Communications vendors restricted themselves, saving customer trust and charging them for data security, where Google free services could be provided for less safety.
