Sibirtelecom completes DWDM rollout

has completed its rollout of Digital Wavelength Division Multiplexing
(DWDM) technology in Omsk, Novosibirsk and Novokuznetsk.
Svyazinvest-owned regional operator Sibirtelecom has announced that it has completed its rollout of Digital Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology in Omsk, Novosibirsk and Novokuznetsk.
Around 161km of fibre-optic network was constructed by the operator, at an investment cost of RUB111 million (USD3.76 million), expanding network capacity and bandwidth availability.
The network has a data transmission capacity of 10Gbps, with upgrades potentially boosting capacity to up to 40Gbps. Sibirtelecom used equipment supplied by Russian vendor T8 for the network rollout.
