Siemens Unified Communications Solution in Clark Atlanta University
Clark Atlanta University (CAU) has deployed a campus-wide Siemens IP unified communications (UC) system that is designed migrate the school to VoIP phones, improve call center capabilities, and help the university cut telecoms costs.
CAU sought Siemens Enterprise Communications’ flexible UC system in order to maintain the University's powerful network and massive amounts of phones and to integrate faxes, SMS, and voice messaging communications easily. Siemens Enterprise Communications' OpenScape Voice Application and OpenScape Contact Center running on the OpenScape UC Server, supported by Black Box Network Services were selected by the University and the solution has been implemented.
A very considerable reduction of 50 percent was indicated in the post-implementation on- going support expenses. The OpenScape solution delivers integrated VoIP phone, voice messaging, and SMS communications anywhere on campus and an expanded call center feature which can easily manage inbound inquires from students and parents. CAU has plans to integrate Siemens’ communications system with their new Microsoft Live@edu student email system and SharePoint collaboration platform for faculty and staff, in the future.
