Telephony and VoIP networking equipment vendor Positron Telecommunication Systems, working for both residential and enterprise markets, launched the beta version of the V-800 Octal E1/T1 PRI PCIe telephony board. The V-800 is Positron’s second release of the solution. It can support up to 256 inbound calls and put zero load on the host CPU. Packed with eight E1/T1 interfaces, 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet, PCIe 1x, integrated SATA controller for additional storage, real time clock with battery, the V-800 has configured for targeted board echo cancellation per channel, capability to transcode a broad spectrum of voice channels and others.
It can be configured as a powerful IP PBX or as a open hierarchy SIP to TDM Gateway. Compared with any other adapter on the market up to date, the V-800 has an operational advantage to be installed in a virtual environment, such as VMWARE and in any operating system. CPU resources for processing are not needed at all.

“The V-800 has a unique design that allows us to support eight E1/T1 interfaces and SIP trunking at the same time, putting no processing load on the host PC,” said Richard McGravie, president of Positron Telecom. “Nothing comes close to our performance metrics. We are even handling the voice codecs on board, which makes our solution number one in terms of price performance. The V-800 sets the margins higher than any product we have previously developed in terms of call density and functionality,” adds McGravie. “Aimed specifically at carriers and the Mobile VAS market, this solution is unique because we can integrate the SS7 signaling, 3G-324M stack, remote database access, voice transcoding chip for AMR and has the ability to mix video streams such as H.264 and MPEG. This will allow VASs and system integrators to quickly deploy scalable, robust applications for the 3G/4G wireless markets with no application development, which is key in this volatile and fast moving market.”

Positron Telecommunication Systems designs, develops and sells VoIP equipment for enterprise communication and collaboration via communication service providers. The company’s products integrate VoIP and traditional telephony in standalone systems. Its VoIP devices connect analog devices (telephone, fax and modem) to an IP-network and gateways, PSTN users to an IP-network or analog PBX and to an IP-network.
