Skype introduces Mac and Windows compatible SkypeKit SDK

skype
On July 14, Skype announced availability of so called SkypeKit SDK (Software Development Kit) for both Macintosh and Windows (it was available only for Linux before) . With application of this reported ‘’headless’’ version of Skype to any connected platform, such as PC, TV set, notebooks etc., it enables a customer to use Skype as a default communication kit without need of user interface.
SkypeKit will not only include a elaborated set of API (Application Programming Interface) for a group of Skype features, such as voice, video calling and messaging, it will also provide Skype’s unique signature over wideband audio, based on the SILK codec.

Skype invites any interested entities to sign for its SkypeKit Beta membership, promising to activate registrations on this invitation basis.
