Sprint said it would launch its first 4G WiMAX handset before mid-2010, according to Forbes.
Other online reports suggested it may be a new Google Android device designed by HTC, PCmag.com said. TeleGeography's 4G Research Service says that Sprint's majority owned subsidiary Clearwire offers mobile WiMAX data services in more than 17 regional markets (including Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, Atlanta and cities across Texas and North Carolina), and plans to cover 80 markets and over 120 million people by end-2010.

The service is advertised as offering computer users an average data speed of 3Mbps-6Mbps with a peak capability of 10Mbps.
