Tanzanian company Sasatel launches the Smartphone

Local mobile carrier SASATEL has introduced the Smartphone that will allow its customers to make internet connections at reported very affordable cost.
Mr Frank Semaganga, The Sasatel Products and Services Officer said the new phone will enable customers to transmit and receive e-mails, access to social networking forums like facebook, nimbuzz, gtalk, yahoo messenger and skype will be available either.

Special ceremony was held in capital city of Tanzania Dar es Salaam, and Sasatel officials mentioned about ongoing internet revolution in country, and growing demand of population on hi-tech products. The NetFront configured suite of Smartphone allows opening files and use of MC Office (97-03), PDF content files; nearly all basic e-mail accounts with AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo etc. are fully compatible with the device.

Sasatel Smartphone additional features include the FM Radio, Bluetooth, 2GB memory card, 2.0 Megapixel camera and video recorder.

Company Sasatel is listed the AIM Stock Exchange in London, with considerable Tanzanian ownership, and is financed mostly by shareholder PME Infrastructure Fund.
