For the first time in over ten years Telekom Austria has reported a quarterly rise in total access lines, with 2.314 million at the end of December 2009, compared to 2.309 million three months earlier.

The company attributed the turn in fortunes to the continued strong uptake of product bundles, such as the company’s aonSuperKombi, which offers triple-services for EUR24.90 (USD35.32) per month. Year-on-year the total of access lines declined marginally, however, down from 2.33 million in December 2008. The company enjoyed strong annual growth in the broadband and aonTV segments in the year ended 31 December 2009, with 1.02 million broadband customers and 101,300 aonTV subscribers, up from 885,700 and 63,800 at the end of December 2008 respectively.
