Malaysian fixed line incumbent Telekom Malaysia (TM) has revealed plans to expand the coverage of its ‘Streamyx’ wireless internet service, saying that it aims to offer the service nationwide, Bernama reports.
According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, TM provides Wi-Fi internet access via more than 2,000 Wi-Fi hotspots, having added around 800 sites during 2009, of which almost 35% (724) are located in the Klang Valley, which includes the capital, Kuala Lumpur.

The telco has not given a timeframe in which it expects to complete the rollout.
