Primus, Internode and iiNet have become the first three companies to sign up to sell services via the Tasmanian arm of the National Broadband Network (NBN), according to iTWire.
The trio are expected to launch commercial services using the NBN from July 2010, and commenting on the development communications minister Stephen Conroy said: ‘It’s great to see so much interest from retail service providers in offering services in Tasmania and I welcome their support for the NBN. This shows they see compelling business opportunities in providing Tasmanians with services over the NBN.’

The announcement follows the recent opening of a concept test centre in Tasmania which will reportedly allow internet service providers (ISPs) to test services in a live environment, which will ‘play a key part in supporting the overall NBN systems while a network operations centre is developed.’
