Viasat launches its VoIP services in Argentina
Entrprise ViaSat Inc. has launched the supplying of its Edge Access Voice-over-Internet Protocol (VoIP) system to company Grupo TVSA of Argentina, thus empowering the cable TV and broadband Internet provider to deliver triple-folded services. Dedicated ViaSat softswitch communication system is designed to ensure end-to-end, sophisticated satellite VoIP networking for broadband, corporate enterprise managed services, wholesale operators and other hosted applications.
Additionally ViaSat is working in matters of a back office utilities for administration, provisioning, and billing from IPVision called SIMA into the Grupo TVSA network. The ViaSat Softswitch satellite communication system covers real needs of partnered company.Based on softswitch call control and service management technology designed by enterprise Clarent, it provides regional level VoIP telephony service as well as optimized voice carriage between geographically separate locations.Main advantages of the softswitch system are reported to be: replacing traditional legacy telephony networks, install totally new voice networks, increase voice capacity in ever growing markets. The partnership will make Grupo TVSA to cover relayed services in cooperation with three major national subsidiaries: Teledifusora S.A. (Rosario City), Megavision Santiago S.A. (Santiago del Estero City), Decoteve S.A. (Salta City). The project foresees integrating phone services on more than 15,000 lines, consisting with these SS7 protocols for interconnecting with telephony industry players in the region.
