Voip courses: new eZuce offer named OpenUC
17.08.2010
Company eZuce is offering an open-source, software-only unified communications
solution that company officials say is an cheaper alternative to Microsoft's UC
offerings.
As a matter of VoIP ongoing courses to develop, eZuce launched on Aug. 12 its
OpenUC, described by company’ s officials as a solution aimed at midsize to large
enterprises of 200 to 10,000 users and can be implemented as an on-premises
solution or through a managed services environment.
The OpenUC VoiP based solution is created to deliver all the functionality of legacy
hardware-based IP PBX systems, but by the completely open-source, software-
based approach that is downloaded and installed on a physical server that already is
available, according to company.
This is an unusual course of VoIP implementation, when native SIP (Session
Initiation Protocol) takes away the need for a dedicated server, which is normally
needed for some UC deployments.
The product is featured by the same elements as Microsoft's Communications Server,
including instant messaging and video conferencing to unified messaging, presence,
call center, collaboration and mobility, according to eZuce.
Company use the existing hardware and an quite aggressive per-seat or per-unit
pricing model what help dramatically downsize the overall costs for UC deployment,
the company said.
"eZuce was born from the successful efforts of SIP foundry as demand increased
for an open-source, SIP -based solution that ties enterprise communications tools
with Web-enabled business processes," Martin Steinmann, co-founder and CEO
of eZuce, said in a statement. "eZuce presents a logical progression in UC with a
holistic approach that marries the strengths of enterprise communications with cloud
computing."
In according with official company’s statements, OpenUC has been in development
for seven years and comes onto the market as a mature product and another innovative
VoIP course to develop.
It's designed to be far less expensive and easier to implement than other UC solutions,
according to officials, through the set of features as central management and an all-
inclusive price reportedly set at $65 per user.
About eZuce: company was launched in 2010 by the original founders of the
company „SIP foundry”, to concentarte on the VoIP course as open source
community in order to satisfy growing demand for SIP communication solutions.
eZuce has received market validation from enterprise customers as well as partners
as having one of the best solution architecture. There is an increasing unmet need
for an IT solution that merge communications with Web, and eZuce is one of the
first company to provide it. Company is concentarted on a scalable, interoperable
