Engineers at VOCAL will work with a customer`s engineering staff to quickly transfer technologies and integrate licensed components into a customer`s product. VOCAL engineers have significant experience in wireless (802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.16, 802.20, GSM, GPRS, EDGE) telecommunications (analog and digital signaling), data communications (voice band modems, xDSL and Internet protocols), facsimile (group 3 and fax over IP) voice processing (speech compression, echo cancellation, noise reduction) and protocols for voice over network (VoIP, H.323, H.248/MEGACO, MGCP, VoDSL, VoATM and SIP).VOCAL Technologies has been an active participant in the development of voice band and ADSL modems. In particular, numerous contributions to ITU Study Group 16, Question 23 have been accepted for incorporation into the latest V.90/V.92 voiceband, data modem standards. Currently contributions to ITU Study Group I5, Question 4, have been used as the basis for investigation of advanced Forward Error Correction coding technologies known as "Turbo Coding". These techniques give a practical way to approach the performance limits dictated by Shannon`s Law. For the benefit of its licenses, VOCAL has filed numerous patents in V.90/V.92 and xDSL fields.VOCAL provides solutions on various platforms including Analog Devices, ARM, DSP Group cores, LSI Logic`s ZSP core, MIPS and TI. Multi-tasking software solutions for the modem and network markets have been implemented including the current data and facsimile modulations, data protocols, modem and facsimile command sets, and network protocol stacks. Numerous high-density server systems have been developed using VOCAL`s software, each meeting extensive interoperability standards. |
